lol! well in europeen schools it's pretty normal to learn other languages since there are now 25 countries in the europeen union (since may 1st, there were 15 before... i can even name them if you want! :) lol). i don't have any problem with English at school since i lived in the USA for about 10 years... i started writing French in 4th grade, an Spanish in 8th grade... alothough i need a dictionary to help me understand what i don't know (witch is a lot...)

I want to learn Japanese, Portugees and Spanish, after I'm done with highschool. And maybe some old, hardly used language. Now that'd be kewl.

I only did one year, because then I was pretty sick of it, but since my best friend is still doing Latin I sometimes get to learn some new stuff about it.
Plus, the grammar (like the nouns and such) are like the German ones, so that's basically the same. Although I think in Latin it's a lot more difficult.

well i don't know if there is a limit, but Champolion knew 7 or 8 languages i think... not to mention the philosophers of antiquity who must have know about the same number...

Nah, he means dialects. Like other tongues in a language. I must admit, here in Belgium, almost every town has its own dialect, yet when you go from province to province, the dialects are completely different. It's quite confusing.

And a young child can learn up to 3 languages, yet the limit of languages a person can learn when they are older is still something to be found out.
